why write?

I have to write what I hear in my head, what I dream in my sleep, what my bones ache to express.

My poems tell stories of strength, love, regret, disobedience, loss, hope, redemption, and whatever whispers.

not afraid of the dark

Here are some lines from “not afraid of the dark”:

every night, I turn the lights on in my house

all of them

a beacon to the rime on my window

now, my living room is full of shadow

I switch off lights

shadow disappears

I’m not afraid of the dark

I’m not afraid of the dark

. . .

. . .

. . .

I’m not afraid of the dark
