shaving with a dull razor

 I’m getting back to work on this one, “shaving with a dull razor”.  Here are two stanzas:

 

I don’t like to shave with a dull razor

it abrades my skin

I warm lotion between my palms

moisturize my rash

I’m not smooth like a blown glass jelly fish

my edges are serrated

 

I try to expire my deadline

I rub at an indentation behind my ear

sit beside the gas stove and hold an unlit match

I want to evaporate

but I forget the incantation
